I am doing the exercises and I have some doubts.
Can you help me, please?
My doubts are the following: the sentences in topic 11. The phrase: "Did you lend Susan the money?" I don't understand why you don't say "to" before Susan. 'Did you lend to Susan the money?'
And in the phrase 'Did you ever lend money to a friend?', Shouldn't you put 'something' before money?
Thank you
English is a very flexible language and very often you will find different options are all correct, for example these 2 alternatives are correct:
Did you lend Susan the money?
Did you lend the money to Susan?
As you can see the word order determines whether you use the preposition “to” or not.
As for the other question, you could say “some money” and that’s perfectly correct too, but never “something money” : )
